Kent School Summer Writers Camp

Dress is informal for all classes and activities. Participants are mailed a list of recommended clothing and personal items before the start of the program.

Health Care A registered nurse is available daily throughout the program. A local doctor is on call, and hospital facilities are within easy reach in nearby Sharon and New Milford. Each student is required to submit a health form before the start of the program.

Location Kent School's campus is located 78 miles north of New York City and 55 miles west of Hartford, Conn. Nestled between the Housatonic River and Mount Algo, the campus is a short walk to the town of Kent, a picturesque, rural New England community. (Click here for a map of Kent, Connecticut.)

Admission The Kent School Summer Camp for Creative Writing is open to students entering grades 8, 9, and 10 who are in good academic standing. Applicants are chosen for the program on a first-come, first-served basis, with decisions generally rendered within two weeks following receipt of the completed application. Expenses The inclusive fee for boarding students is $2,800. Before students arrive, they are advised to establish a student bank account for their discretionary use during camp. The suggested amount for an account is $125, and limited withdrawals are allowed provided there is a balance in the account. Top
